Lemmy Akerele, the association's chairman, told reporters in Lagos, Nigeria's commercial hub that the competition was aimed at identifying grass-roots talents in the state.
Akerele added that the competition, sponsored by the Lagos State Government Billig Yeezy 350 Boost V2 Hvit Herre Adidas Cream White , would also re-awaken the grass-roots development of the sport in the state.
The competition is targeted toward the development of Wushu Kungfu in the state, he said, noting that the event would go a long way to improve the sport.
The chairman added that lack of sponsors for its programs has always affected the growth of the sport over the years.
Akerele pledged that the body would not relent in its effort to promote the sports in the state.
He commended the state government for sponsoring the competition, and urged private organizations to support government's efforts in promoting sport.
The competition featuring two major events would end on Sept. 7.
